As suggested, I made you a slower background kind music.

Next one will be for Tang, to convince him to go to church :p

Slow background music- LGO
nice.. I like the beginning part and the ending variation. The middle part with same instruments and melody over and over sounds kind of long.. i would throw away some instruments played there.. but who am i to judge..
but keep on composing.. im looking forward to hear new pieces

Bloat moss marshes music testing online!
I really need feedback about this, is it too tense or anything like that...

A new one is up now ,with two versions "tension+action" and "less tension+action"

also really I need exact directions on what role will this music take in the game (boss, main title, menu screen, character creation...) so I will continue according to that (slow down, get faster, keep the tempo, get more militaristic, epic...).

Hi!
I like 'less tension+action' very much.. though.. that change of melody at 1:01 is kind of unnatural..
but it's really nice piece..

well you can definitely feel the tension there.. that sharp violin is too sharp for me. But people fighting boss would really feel the pressure with this music..
I still like the 'less tension+action(task)' more -> from this I would create 2 songs, one with melody until 1:01, and second song with melody from 1:01 with some variations and switching off the instruments and so on

I decided on making another one with after 1:01 too. But sinceTension+action--LGO has the part before 1:01 I won't use it again.
For the old second part, yep that would sound good in another part :)

Halia music ready. I now know the crowd is a bit too much for Halia, I'll record another less crowded crowd :)

hey man.. both songs are great..
though, you know me, I always have to complain on something.. :)
in halia I would push that string instrument input sooner.. there is too long of a solo for that flute.. and last third of the song was perfect.. that I would definitely leave as it is
piano is nice.. but that rain sounds more like a noise.. maybe it is missing the effect when couple of rain drops are much louder sometimes as they fall on different surface

Sure I have always room for constructive complains (Tang allways find something too) :)
I was not going to put the rain effect, but thought it would be a chance to show some sound effects too. It was one that I recorded 2 years ago. So put it just to try and kind of mimic how it would sound in the game. Most likely the rain will be in Fx part, so there will be the music without effect and effects in another place. So these two are to see how the effects sound when music is on. But in the game it will surely sound much better since they will not be on the same track, and wider in the stereo field.

for Halia I was going to make different many small themes that can be played randomly, then while playing these two pieces went well together, so I decided to tie them in one piece. Yes the flute is a bit long by itself, now thinking of it I was going to make it a duet of flutes, thanks for reminding that to me, that way it will be richer and will sound better, so you will less likely be bored of it :)

I will make more of these small pieces for towns, so they can be played randomly (like 5-6 of them) and not be boring while in the same town, and it won't play the same thing all the time.

By the way thanks for encouraging me to record the crowd effect myself Dusho. I was not even thinking about it with the despairing feeling of low quality sound.

I see you tried flute duet
melody is good, but honestly, those flutes sound kind of annoying - don't you have a better sounding flute there? I mean the instrument, isnt there some flute with deeper sound?

Unfortunately Dusho, I don't have another flute. Yes that would be nice. But maybe I can combine this live flute, with the virtual flute thing. I will try that and see if it fits well.

This was actually a live flute play? Wow.. didn't know that.
Man, you should sometimes tell how this music composing works, cause I thought you need just keyboard, some professional music maker program and lots and lots of samples with instruments. I thought that only orchestras now use real instruments to performs music..

yep, this is generally what is done in composing these days, in professional or amateur composing. What I do is like you said playing the keyboard ,and recording the midi notes with the recording software. Then mounting those lots of samples on those midi messages (In fact you play it when the samples are loaded, so you hear them as you play and record). Then you repeat these steps for each instrument. But some of those samples kinda sound fake (but again since even professionals use them, we get used to them most of the time). When I can record an instrument live, I do that way because the difference in reality factor is great if you do something what the programmed sounds can not do.
On the other hand recording with midi is a real help, because you don't need to prepare microphones or cables, or a fully silent place. And when you make a mistake, it is much easier to fix it while the song is in midi state.
I only record electric guitar live, this time I tried flute, but the former ones were samples again. If the violin at home was not so horrible, I could do something with that too :D
Other than guitar (and maybe some flute in the future) I play it all on the keyboard using orchestral samples.
Also I think really rich people (damn) compose like that, and later make a real orchestra perform it, recording at that time. The same is true for choirs. Sometimes they are samples, sometimes live.

This is how composing is done nowadays {[(the recording part) mostly]. :D as much as I know that is }

Sounds really good. Maybe a bit mournful still, but they are at war after all.
